Candle care tips

For the longest, safest burn, follow these tips:

  • A long first burn is NOT necessary for this coconut apricot wax candle.
  • Trim the wick to 1/4 inch (6mm) before each burn to prevent soot and excessive flickering.
  • Keep the wick centered for an even burn. If it shifts, gently reposition it with a matchstick while the wax is still soft.
  • Never let the flame touch the sides of the jar.
  • Burn no more than 4 hours at a time, and discontinue use when 1/4 inch (6mm) of wax remains in the jar.
  • Always burn your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, fans, and flammable materials.
  • NEVER leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it out of reach of children and pets.
  • Allow the wax to cool completely before moving the candle.
  • Keep the lid off until the smoke is released after snuffing the candle to prevent the smoky smell from mixing with the wax.
  • Do not touch the vessel while the candle is burning to avoid burns.
  • To put out any candle fires, always use a fire blanket or fire extinguisher, NEVER use water.

Repurposing to extend the magic:

  • Wipe the inner rim of the jar with a dry cloth to remove soot.
  • Once the candle is finished, clean out any remaining wax with hot water, and repurpose the jar as a sacred vessel for crystals, incense cones, or keepsakes.
